Love this store. Two floors of goodies. First floor all art supplies - professional and amateur. Great selection of brushes, markers, and sketching pens. Small book selection in back. Upstairs there is a huge selection of handmade paper. Sheets and sheets of gorgeous paper from around the world. If you need something cut, they will do it for a small fee. Ask about teachers discount card.
THis Michaels is really large. Located in Burbank near a lot of other cool stuff like Target & Costco
it makes it convenient for one stop shopping if you are doing a bunch of errands. Always check for Sunday paper before buying anyting and make sure you use the 40% one item coupon. Bring along a friend and another coupon abd you can buy two things. Dont have a coupon, ask a salesperson, they are usually nice about it and have extras. Great for scrapbooking supplies.
This is not one of this banks better branches. Parking in back is difficult and crowded. Bank is small. There is usually a long line. THe big Drawback...THere is NO ATM here, inside or out. WE live nearby and usually have to go to Studio City branch because of the ATM.
THis Kinkos located right in the middle of Studio City is large and very busy. Its hard to get a Kinkos person to help with any copying. Daytime is loaded with people making copies of resumes and scripts. Best time to go after diner. We have gone at 10PM and there was a couple of people making copies. The color copies are awesome for $.89. I have copied art photographs and they have come out exactly like the original. Easy to do, you put in credit card or ATM and machine automatically deducts. If you're a moron like me and you make a couple of mistakes, go to desk and ask for credit, they are real nice about refunding.
Bought one of those extra large chairs they now call a "Chair and a half" here and WE LOVE IT. The best thing to cuddle up with someone and watch TV. We originally looked at the floor model and the it was on sale for $750. Decided on the off white and we were told that instead of moving the floor model out they were shipping us a brand new one still wrapped. Its in our bedroom and one of my favorite pieces of furniture. I have been known to read in it and fall asleep its that comfortable.!!
I have only been to this museum once but loved it. Free Parking, near freeways in Pasadena. This small museum is rather nice, quiet and elegant. Beautiful Gardens filled with Rodin sculpture and more. Small gift shop packed with cool books and stuff. I couldn't tear myself away from looking at the Degas Dancer statue in the museum so I wound up buying a small replica in gift shop to take home. Brought my sketchbook and would up sketching here and there, even sitting on floor near some artwork and no guards bothering me. Even let me use gel pens. MOCA wont allow anything but pencils!
Upstairs on the second floor of a small strip mall on Ventura Blvd and Tujunga is this magic store. Small but well stocked store. Videos, DVD's, tricks for the amateur or the professional. On Saturdays, magicians tend to hand out and shoot the sh__!I went here to sell some magic tricks that belonged to a family member and Brent was extremelly nice. Introduced me to a friend/customer/fellow magician who wound up buying almost everything I had. I was left with 7 Videos and Brent offered to hang onto them in the store and try and sell them for me in the next week or so. If you're lucky you might catch someone willing to do a little slight of hand for you!
The best place for unusual gifts for someone special or for yourself. Incredible collection of jewelry handmade by designers you will find nowhere else. Cases throughout store will have you looking awhile. Aisles of little stalls set up by artists. Candles, Pottery, Knick Knacks, Artwork, Clothes galore. I have bought a few things by this artist who signs her art as VAN. Distressed wood with found objects made into Hearts, Crosses, Boxes, Frames etc. Gift Certificates are available and are wonderful presents for someone who loves arty things. Public Parking in back and a back door. I have haggled an art piece once that was a little more than I wanted to spend and they called the artist and asked if they would lower the price and they did. Friendly staff if made up of the artists themselves who spend a certain amount of time each month selling. They all know each others work and things so if you are looking for something in particular mention it and they will guide you around to stuff.
Big thrift store with lots of clothes. I tend to go and look through books, CD's, Jewelry and knick knacks come and go fast. Found a new pair of Hush Puppies two one in my size for $5. Have noticed nice men's designer dress shirts on racks. Clothes tend to be mushed together on racks and are hard to look through. Great for donations, large parking lot, separate door for fast drop offs and you can get a receipt for your taxes.
Huge store for all your party needs. We have gone here a few times. Great prices on bags of helium balloons and rentals on tanks. Beware, tank rentals are popular and they are booked on weekends. We forget to book a medium sized tank and went at thelast minute and we got stuck with the LARGE size because we didnt have a choice. Aisles and Aisles of themed napkins, plates, party favors, invitations, streamers, ribbon, misc. Sales people are hard to find sometimes so sometimes you wind up on your own. Ask at a register where to find something. One stop shopping basically for a party, everything but the food and drinks!
