I have only purchased a T-shirt or two here. Prices are a little steep for used clothing. But I did find that sometimes bringing your old clothes here if you have current labels can be rewarding. They are very picky on what they want, but if they take anything they are very fair in giving you $$. Beware taking boyfriend with you while you are selling, they will roam around and shop and while you are getting your $$ will have found a shirt they want and you will wind up with less cash!! Take the money and run!
One of our favorite Blockbusters to go to even though we are closer to others. This one has a great selection, not too busy on weekends and we always seem to find something that we want. Great selection of Independant Movies, check lower down on shelves for those. They dont have a run on popular movies like some of their other stores and people tend to return faster so ask if you want a movie that is not in stock and they might find it in the just returned pile!
Order a slice of pizza and you get the most enormous, humongous slice you have ever seen. It actually measures 14 inches! It was $3.99 but we shared a slice not knowing if it was any good and halfway through ordered a second slice. IT was great! Thin crust, very cheesy and sauce was excellent. They actually have a pie to go that has this size slice and I dont know the price but the box was the biggest pizza box I have EVER seen! Worth tasting!
Quality Pre-Owned Vehicles. Small lot, small selection but what we did like about this place was Tom the salesguy on duty and Angel the mechanic. Tom was not your cookie cutter car salesman. He was dressed very casual, NO pressure, friendly, didn't follow us around like a leech, and let us test drive a SUV by simply letting him copy our drivers license. He was negotiable on price, called us back with a counter offer next day and though we didn't see anything we wanted, I would recommend checking this place out by stopping by or calling to see if he has what you are looking for.
Great 50's diner. THis location in Sherman Oaks has a huge parking lot. The Cinnamon French Toast is out of this world ANYTIME of the day. Shakes are awesome. Classic Grilled Cheese and Fries hits the spot. Open Late for late night snacks and munchies. Reasonable prices.
This designer clothes boutique is owned by Star Trek William Shatner's daughter. Elite collection or very expensive clothes and a small selection of jewelry. I picked up a pair of sweat pants that were $395! Besides spending a month's salary on one clothes item, parking is a drag, you are at the mercy of meter parking on Ventura Blvd.
This is the best bookstore if you are fed up with Borders and Barnes and Noble type stores. Small but unique selection of books found nowhere else. I love Art and Photography and Design sections. I have purchased books here that I didnt know existed and I have over 700 Art Books so finding something new is a treat. Open late so those nights that you are looking for something to do, take a ride, parking usually on street, and go and browse. I mentioned I was a Teacher and received a discount. Niceand informative staff.
Being from New York and a Bloomies groupie from way back, I love this store. Prices are high but fashion is their business. Great labels, and if you wait for sales and roam racks for best deals in town. Be a charge customer and get special shoppng days and coupons in the mail. They have a cute little, and I mean little, cafe on top floor for a nice lunch that is not mall like. Houseware dept is best for pots and pans, towels and bedding dept superb for the finest and softest. Lingerie dept is very large with the best labels. Kids dept is great, shopped there for years for daughter, she loved their selections.
If you need any Hollywood souveniers for anyone or like us need props for a party this is the place to go. Prices are great because they are west of the usual chaos of Hollywood Blvd shops. Medium size store with a vast assortment of Goofy T-shirts and anything else Hollywood! We needed Oscar statues for a party, went armed with CASH to bargain and wound up getting a dozen of them for $12 each instea of $15-20! I asked the price of statues and was told $14 and knew after that what I wanted to pay, whipped out my calculater and offered $12 for 12 and owner grabbed his calculator and made counter offer. I rejected, standing my ground on my first offer and after a little negotiating, he caved in. NO TAX!
World class museum right here in our own city! Jazz on Fridays needs to be mentioned to hang or chill. Nice spot to listen is north of stage away from crowds on lawn or museum ground seating. Be a member, get tickets to spotlight shows, store discounts on merchandise and make sure you sign up when they are giving away a free artbook with membership. Kids are free so membership gets you two adults and all the kids you can gather up to bring. We did a field trip with a group of teens and two adults, saw the Beyond Geometry exhibit which everyone loved and grabbed lunch down the block at a pizzeria. What a great afternoon!
