I had heard that these guys did a good job, but when we hired them, they seemed to put us on their low-priority customer list. It took a while to start up (not unreasonable for a contractor that has a number of jobs lined up), but when they got going it was in fits and starts. Upon 'completion' they still hadn't screwed my patio roof back on; I eventually had to finish it myself. Like most constractors, once they're 'done' they don't want to hear from you any more.
They also forgot to call for an inspection once the work was done, so we had to jump through hoops with the county to get that taken care of - that was very aggravating, but since we had to get it done right now (the county sent out a notice that our permit was about to expire), we didn't even have time to call them to complain.
Now I'm wondering how they got the reviews that attracted me to them (or perhaps they didn't?)
We always enjoyed going to Catlin's (and Mrs. Catlin was truly a gracious hostess), but they haven't been in business for at least 5 years. Any idea where they went?
Note that I gave 4 stars not due to any lack of qualtiy, but they are not what I consider 'fine dining', but are just a very good family restaurant (which is where they shined.)
I started going to get smog checks - always friendly, fast service. We then started bringing the cars there for maintenance - still great service, reasonable prices and they get the work done when they say it will be done.
They were very friendly and informative on the phone; when I arrived they remembered me, and got me going with very little paperwork. I shopped around to about 10 other tire places and found that they had about the best deal on the tires I got for my truck. Free coffee there, too...
The only glitch in the install was they promised it in 30-45 minutes but it actually took about 90 minutes. Otherwise, I have absolutely no complaints and will be bringing my other cars there in the future.
