If you want to see the Oregon dunes without having to hike, you can either rent an ATV here or ride in a large open air buggy that is driven for you. This is a tourist attraction with ice cream, minature golf and a gift store besdies the dune buggy rides. Fun place for families. Not so good an attraction in rainy weather since all of it is outdoors.
I stopped into this store to buy some of their carmel candy corn as part of our junk food extravaganza while on vacation on the coast. The sweets were good but I found it very strange that they were selling christian books at a candy store. I don't really like the combination.
The view from some these hotel rooms looks over the Siuslw River and some distant sand dunes. You can watch fishing boats go by as they go into the docks. The rooms are pleasant although a bit long and narrow. I appreciate that they are a non smoking establishment. You can get a room with a private spa. Lots of nearby shops and restaurants within walking distance.
The candy in this store is displayed in huge plastic tubes so you can go around and fill bags with candy of your choice. It's mostly novelty hard candies although there is some chocolate. I spent $20 way too quickly on way too much candy when I went in here to treat a visitor. Fun place for occassional visits.
This store adds to Eugene's reputation as a city of runners. It is a beautiful store in the Oakway Center that caters to everything that regards running from the proper shoes, good nutrition, training and community events. I'm always more inspired about running every time I visit this exceptional store. I'm sure you'll find what you need here.
This museum gives you a feel of how people lived on the Oregon Coast years ago. The artifacts are very interesting and well displayed. I think this museum will get a lot more attention now that it has moved from Hwy 101 to its new location in Old Town Florence. I like to know the history of an area when I'm traveling and I'm glad I took the time to visit this museum.
I'm terrrible at golf, so I sometimes actually try to work on it by actually practicing. This is a fun place to just goof around at playing golf which is what makes it fun. Note that the access road to this place is a bit down the road from the driving range location so you have to watch for signs.
This hotel is nicely tucked away at the end of the Newport Business District. Newport is an interesting coastal town that divides itself between the fishing industy and tourism. You can walk to many of the attractions from your hotel. I generally prefer a room right on the ocean but I did enjoy my stay at the Enbarcadero after a whale watching adventure that we took.
When booking a room at Otter Crest, I imagined great ocean views and quality rooms. The grounds for this resort are beautiful as they are distant from highway noise and they are very natural forests and cliffs overlooking the ocean. I didn't think the rooms were the cleanest or in great condition and there were too many too close together.Instead of fresh ocean air, there was a smell of presto logs from the many fires being burned in the condos.
This shop shows you that you can juggling to an art form. This store sells footbags which are known to some as hackeysack. Flying Clipper also sells some other juggling items like scarves, poi sticks and fiddle sticks. They also have instructional dvds. The mood in this store is as fun as their merchandise.
