These guys are so cheap I don't know how they stay in business. They are also by far the best movers for a do-it-yourselfer since they don't package services, you pay for exactly what you want done. You want to pack and move all the little stuff yourself? Great, you can just pay them to move big stuff. They are super careful with your stuff too. They are by far the best!
PROS: specialized and cheap, careful!
They had a decent selection, but I was shocked to get denied for a washer and dryer. We were new to Utah, but good jobs and good credit, and just bought a house. We got approved for a house at an excellent rate, but we could not get a simple washer and dryer? Why? New to the area and too much credit activity (duh, we just bought a house)! Then I took in my parents to cosign, which is ridiculous to begin with, and with my parents 20+ yrs on the job, great credit (830 FICOs) and over $15k a MONTH in income between us, I still got denied!! I really did feel discriminated against, I was bowled over by this!
CONS: Discriminatory lending practices!
I just wanted my little girl to take a gymnastics class to have fun and learn to deal with the structure of a classroom and following instructions. She is only two years old. They expect so much more of the kids, I felt like having fun was not the goal, its more like a factory for Olympic athletes! I think the pressure is too high for little kids, but then again, I'm not looking to turn my daughter pro, so I guess if that is your intention then this is the place for you. It is very pricey, probably the most expensive in the valley, but they do have the best facility and equipment. If you are very serious about having your kid be a world class cheerleader or gymnast, then this is the place for you, otherwise, I'd recommend something much cheaper.
PROS: The most rigorous for teaching skilled gymnasts.
CONS: Not a place for little kids to have fun, too stressful.
They are very difficult to deal with. There prices are high and the service is lacking. There knowledge of sprinkler systems is pathetic. Better pray for rain since otherwise your grass and flowers are going to die all over the place. They will demolish the sprinklers when they mow then try to charge you for repairing the sprinklers. Forget about installing the proper sprinklers and timing them correctly, you'd be better off to try it yourself, even if you have no experience.
CONS: bad service
Did you know that someone is there 24/7? When you call, you do not speak to an answering service, you are speaking to an actual vet tech right there in the hospital. That is what makes them the best in my opinion. Also, if you do have an after hours emergency it is so nice that someone is already there, you won't have to wait for someone to drive in to meet you, and when your pet is in pain, every second you have to wait feels like an eternity, and here you do not have to wait. When you get there, the tech is ready and waiting on you! I very highly recommend this place, they are caring, nice, sympathetic, and best of all, they are ready!
PROS: 24/7 vet tech in the office!
These guys are a whiz at stains, they can get anything out! This may cost you a little, but I feel it is well worth it. They also are very upfront about what they can and cannot do, and the costs involved, and they won't waste your time. Occasionally they are not the most organized people and will be late for an appointment or not return a call, but they are worth the wait, they just need a secretary!
PROS: Good at cleaning carpet, upfront prices.
CONS: Could be more organized.
I personally was okay with the job they did on my house, but two of my friends said that they used too much soap and ruined their carpet. I'm not informed about the specifics of carpet cleaning, but I guess if you had pricey carpet, you may want to avoid these guys. However, if you have rental units they will cut you a volume discount, which can be pretty nice. They are also good about responding quickly to emergencies, so you can call them after hours for flooding and the like.
I got a roof from them in 2002 that is supposedly unconditionally guaranteed. I've been calling them for over a year to come out since I have a leak. The lady who answers the phone just takes a message to send to dispactch, and then nothing. One time they did tell me someone came out (we weren't home and got no notice, it was about 2 months after we complained), and the person who came out just left a note on our door saying our roof didn't leak, it was the flashing. How can he tell this from the outside when no one was even here to show him where the problem is? Since then we ripped down the sheetrock inside and took to the roof with a hose to isolate EXACTLY where it is leaking, yet we still can't get anyone to come out or even answer our calls, it is pathetic!
CONS: no customer service!
I'm usually wary of mortgage brokers, they usually charge outrageous fees, but I needed one. We got turned down by several banks and a few brokers for our house for a few reasons. Our debt to income was too high, we had no money down, we were new on our jobs, etc. Melanie worked very hard to get us approved, and it was no easy task for her. She was the only broker who reviewed our credit report, pinpointed errors, and went about getting the errors fixed so we could get approved. She got us an excellent mortgage in an excellent program with no PMI and her fees were VERY reasonable. We also have a 30 yr, fixed rate mortgage, no gimmicky stuff. She was knowledgable of different mortgage programs and the benefits of each. I really feel she did what was in our best interest, not what made her the most money. I have since referred people to her and they have said the same. Visit her website at melaniescott.com if you are curious.
PROS: Very knowledgable of mortgage programs, hardworking!!
We have both a car loan and a home equity loan through them and we love their service. Both times are loans went through quickly and easily. For the car, we were upside down and other lenders turned us down. We have good credit and Cyprus approved us and gave us the best rate of any we'd seen. The fees were very low ($12, I think) for the whole thing. When we got the home equity loan it was so quick and easy. We faxed a few things, had an inspection, and it was done! We used our tax appraisal so we didn't have to pay for an appraisal, so we had no fees at all, zero, and again, a rock bottom rate. I highly recommend them.
PROS: Fast, easy to deal with, no hidden fees.
