GLS properties were unfriendly and unprofessional when we rented from them. The lease they required us to sign was written with illegal and unethical clauses that cannot be held up in a court of law. The maintenance was slow and second-rate and cost us hundreds in water bills because they never properly repaired the leaks.

Bissingers Handcrafted Chocolatier

The quality of Bissinger chocolates is up there with the finest european suppliers. If you can come across the store during blackberry season (september, I believe) you will find an exquisite treat. They have specially grown blackberries the size of golf balls, coated in fondant then dipped in black, milk. or sugar free chocolates. It is the most amazing chocolate and we visit every time we get the chance.

Wine Merchant Ltd

The Wine Merchant always goes the extra mile for us. When we needed clever birth announcements for our daughter's birth, we ordered miniature bottles of a fine liquor bearing the same name. We got loads of compliments and the Wine Merchant custom ordered it all for us, at a reasonable cost. We were thrilled with the experience and will go back again in a second.

Godiva Chocolatier

We bring our kids into Godiva each time we're in the mall to pick up a special treat. The first time, admittedly, we were intimidated by the glass and gold everywhere. But, once inside we realized that the customer service is the best. When we have a new baby, we always hand out the gorgeous Godiva chocolate cigars - molded to look like a cigar instead of being a log of chocolate in a wrapper. We order in bulk and the ladies there are always so kind and helpful.

Elliott Fine Jewelers Inc

The new location of Elliott across from Deals is beautiful. The customer service is top-notch and the quality of the items is amazing. Avoid the mall stores at all cost and visit Elliott - support small business and you'll be handsomely rewarded with quality and service.

Eckert Orchards Incorporated

It's a family tradition to pick your own crops at Eckerts each summer - strawberries, blackberries, and peaches especially. In the fall, my daughter knows her birthday is soon by the bushels of green, crisp apples. But, the store is seriously lacking in the produce department lately. The flies were everwhere, covering the rotting fruits and veggies. The blackberries were inedible and the peaches were rock hard when we were there last - and the prices are up there with Dierbergs. Considering the quality, we'll stick to the grocery store from now on.

Market Basket

With Shop N Save and Schnucks down the road, I see no reason to ever stop at Market Basket. We made that mistake once because we saw the Boar's Head logo and assumed it would be a quality store. The produce was awful - literally moldy and shriveled brown lettuce was abound. The entire store smells awful, and the aisles of farm animal foods and products certainly don't help.

Schnucks

If you're looking for Starbucks, or top-notch Boar's Head deli items, go to Harts.

If you are looking for a diverse grocery store, this is a waste of time. Go down the street to Dierbergs. The shelf pantry items are just substandard and the selection is very limited. They really need to expand to meet the gourmet, organic/natural foods demands that would go along with the Boar's Head and Starbucks offerings. And, a hot food bar would be welcome as well - since the outdoor seating area is such an attractive area that draws many people for breakfast.

Walgreens

This Walgreens, located in downtown Edwardsville, is usually out of stock and the pharmacy is AWFUL. The wait there is absurd, one night when our daughter was very ill they kept sending us away and telling us to come back in an hour - for three hours! We'll never go to this one agan.

A Plus Pools

If you're looking for a pool, you've found the right place. The staff is great and the information is top notch. You'll be happy you did. Conveniently located.
