Most of this sports club is located underground; there's about six floors underground and one floor above ground. I did not like the set up...everything seemed too cramped. And I got more of a work out climbing up and down the many floors, than I did actually working out. Their prices are reasonable though, and they offer some decent aerobics classes. I think you can sign up for a membership for $19 a month. Located right near columbus circle and lincoln center.
I absolutely hate Sprint and can't wait to get out of my contract---that said, I have no major problems with this branch store. There is a technician, so you can go here to get your phone serviced. I have not had problems with the staff. One time, my brother was having major phone problems and couldn't afford a new phone, and the woman gave him a new phone and charged it to his account so he can pay later...this is usually unheard of and was very nice of her. It's always hard to find parking here, cause the lot is very small and Sprint shares it with a few other stores.
I love White House Black Market and was soooooo excited when they opened a store in Jersey Gardens Mall. Their clothes are gorgeous....mostly white and black (hence the name), and they have great styles, great selections, great quality and great prices. Also, even though Jersey Gardens is an outlet mall, the cashier told me it wasn't an outlet store. You can sign up for their Black book and after you spend $300, you save $5 for life!!! They have gorgeous dresses, nice suits, and casual wear. A great place to buy a dress for a wedding or other formal occassion without breaking your wallet.
PROS: Great styles, great quality, great prices!
I have gotten my hair braided here about four times and each time it came out terribly! The only reason I kept going back is their prices are VERY cheap for micros, but you pay for what you get. The customer service is horrendous. If they braid your hair wrong, they do not want to fix it. If you explain to them the style that you want, they go and do their own thing anyway. And worse thing is they make you pay FIRST, so if you don't like the style, you're stuck because you already paid. The last time they did my micros, they were so terrible I took them out in two weeks and re-did them myself. The braids were too big and they started falling out within the first few days. Also, if you want to use straight hair for your micros, they charge $20 more for using straight hair than if you use curly hair, which makes absolutely no sense....The only decent style they did for me was cornrows, but their prices for cornrows is too high.
PROS: cheap prices for micros, but you pay for what you get!!!
CONS: Terrible service, and ur micros will come out looking a mess!
I love shopping at this particularly Daffy's. It's near Columbus Circle, and I feel their selection is much better than the Daffy's near Manhattan Mall. I think the selection is better here because it targets a higher-class market. You can buy Rampage, Gucci, Hillfiger, Guess, Ralph Lauren, Dolce & Gabana, and clothes from other top namebrands for great deals. BUT be prepared to spend some time here...you have to hunt to find the good deals. But I once bought this adorable Rampage shirt for $4, so the deals are definitely there! They also have an amazing shoe selection.
PROS: Great bargains
CONS: Be ready to spend time hunting for the good deals!
This CVS is open 24 hours and their pharmacy is also open 24-hours. I have found that CVS has the absolute CHEAPEST prices for prescriptions, so if you do not have prescription insurance (like myself) then this is where you need to get your prescriptions to get the best deal. Also, CVS now can give you cash back for debit card purchases :)
Probably the ONLY major problem with this CVS is the lines are ALWAYS long because they never have enough people at the register.
PROS: Great prices for prescriptions, open 24 hours
CONS: Long lines at the register!
I love Olive Garden, but I hardly ever go here because there is ALWAYS a long wait. I mean, the wait can sometimes be up to 2 hours on a weekend. When the weather is nice, you can walk around times square while you wait, but in the winter, its just not worth it to wait in the small bar area for your table. BUT if you do get a seat, the food is always excellent. I love their Italian Margarita with a shot of Amaretto and the lobster and crab stuffed Raviolli. They try to get u in and out of here fast since it stays crowded, but the staff is usually pretty nice.
This place has the BEST fried chicken wings and shrimp fried rice. They charge the market rate for Chinese food, and the staff is pretty friendly. It's not a big place...there's only about 3 tables if you wanted to eat there. It's mostly a take-out place. There is a parking lot outside. I would advise you call in first for your food, otherwise you would be waiting for a while. Do not confuse this restaurant with the one on Springfield Ave. if you call for take-out!
This is the largest Y I have ever seen. They have everything here...you can sign up for a message, relax in the steam room, or sign-up for one of their many classes. They have a huge room full of cardio equipment, another for cycling, another with nothing but weights, and they have several class rooms for fitness classes. They have a diverse range of classes, from adult karate, to salsa aerobics, to Pilates. There is a discounted student rate of $56 p/mth, which includes access to all the classes, 6 free guest passes, and you can stay in one of their "hotel" rooms free 4 nights out of the year. It's a pretty good deal.
The Loop Inn is great! Don't be fooled by the name, it is not a sleazy motel, but is a great place for couples. All their rooms have huge king sized beds, jacuzzi's and mirrors on the ceilings. You can get heart-shaped beds, and they have fantasy themed rooms (ie a jungle theme). The more expensive rooms have pools and huge movie theatre screened tvs...they have overnight and short-stay (4 hour) rates.
