I always rent from Enterprise. They typically have the best prices and their cars are always of good quality. This location is located in the heart of downtown Atlanta, right behind the Peachtree Center. I rented a car from this location at the last minute on a Friday and got a great rate...Only $16.99 p/day for a compact car. It was a cool Hyundai, and was very clean on the inside and out, no scratches, and smelled like a brand new car. They have Sunday hours, which is almost unheard of for rental car companies not located near an airport. Also, for those who are unaware, Georgia does not have extra rental fees for drivers under 25!!!!
PROS: Great rates, nice cars
This grocery store is satisfactory, but no great shakes. It has reasonable prices and you can get a free Kroger card for extra discounts. Their selection, however, is only fair. I am really big on veggies, and I couldn't find some vegetables that I needed for a salad. They also did not have a great selection of frozen vegetables. But, they are open 24 hours, which is a plus.
PROS: Open 24 hours
CONS: Not a great selection of fresh and frozen vegetables
I try not to use FedEx/Kinkos too often because they are so overpriced. They charge anywhere from $.10 to $.25 per copy to print from their computers, which I think is outrageous. But, they are open 24 hours, and if you have a last minute paper to print and your pc has malfunctioned, then this is a great place. You can go here to use their pc's, print, make black & white or color photcopies, scan docs, print resumes, etc.
I love Bank of America. They always have great customer service. Best of all, there is a Bank of America on almost every other block in the Atlanta area, so there's no reason to ever have to pay ATM fees around here! I have a no fee checking account, and they actually have been kind enough to refund a few fees for errors that caused my account to be improperly overdrawn. I think this is the best bank around.
I returned a movie to this Blockbuster before the due date, and they sent me a notice a few weeks later saying I never returned it. I have never had a problem like this before, and I will not be returning to this Blockbuster again. When I called, however, the woman was very kind and helped me clear things up. But I feel that generally the staff here is not very competent. When I originally took out my movie I asked the cashier about the "no late fees" policy, he didn't have an answer and had to ask someone else.
I am staying here for the summer with Emory's Summer Intern Housing Program and I must say I am very impressed. The housing is very nice and the amenities are great! There is an olympic size pool right outside my dorm room, a volleyball court, a tennis court, indoor/outdoor basketball courts, a fitness room and a great student center. The campus is in a great location--there are restaurants, grocery stores, and pretty much anything else you need nearby. The staff is friendly and the price for housing is reasonable considering everything is included.
I went here once to get my eyebrows waxed. The service was pretty good and the woman who waxed my eyebrows was very nice, but I did not like how she did my eyebrows. They were uneven and too skinny, and I told her I did not like them too skinny. Also, the price was a little steep in my opinion ($8); I am used to paying only $5-$6 in the Northeast. Also, they didn't seem to have a seperate room for waxing, but rather I sat in a regular chair and the woman pulled out this little pot with hot wax in it...I thought that was quite ghetto. I don't recommend this place for waxing. It may be a better place to get your nails done.
I like publix. They have good prices and a great selection of food. They have fresh veggies and the supermarket is always very clean. There is a pharmacy, and they also usually have free samples of food--last time I was there they had free samples of mango chicken and it tasted great!!! The best thing is Publix is open 24 hours. Probably the only bad thing is they do not have a discount card like Kroger's, Pathmark, or CVS, but since they usually have great prices, I guess that is okay.
This theater is starting to show better movies. Before, it only showed boring movies that drew a more conservative audience. Now, they show movies that cater to a younger, "urban" crowd. Cheap nights are Tuesdays. Reasonable prices and good popcorn. The theater is pretty small and I have never known any film to sell out. A great place to go if you do not want to go to a crowded theater. Also, its located in the cozy Maplewood Village, next to Roman Gourmet which has great pizza for after the movie!!!
I would not recommend this cab company because their service is terrible. First off, when you call, they let the phone ring forever before someone picks up. Also, this company is not reliable. It takes forever for a driver to pick you up. I have had to call multiple times to double-check and make sure someone was on the way. One time, the cab never showed up! The only reason I have ever used this service is because it is open 24 hours and West Orange & Orange taxi doesn't come to some parts of Newark if you're not going to the Oranges. Their rates are also pretty high.
PROS: Open 24-hours
CONS: Unreliable service
