Linfield College
Linfield College has a top notch nursing school. They offer state of the art classes with professors that truly care. The nurses that come out of Linfield are top in their field. The dormitory facilities are good incomparison with other college dorms. The best part is that if you call the financial department with questions they know who you are and who your student is. It is small enough that they know their cases personally. They will work with you financially to make sure your student can be successful.
Keller Auditorium
Keller Auditorium is a great place for Broadway plays to come and perform. The orchestra level offers a great view and the 1st balcony is fair also. Above that is questionable, bring your binoculars. Intermission is crowded but if you make it to the refreshments in time the prices are fair and the treats tasty. They are easy to work with when making ticket arrangements, if you go to their facility. You may be taking your chances if you use ticketmaster at an outlet, they often don't have their facts straight.
Empire Glass
Empire Glass is probably not the best in repairing glass but they do a fair job and the price is right. They offer incentives, like dinners at Shari's etc to sweeten the deal. They also waive the insurance deductible. They will come to your place of employment of home to do the repair. If they do make a mistake they will gladly come out and fix it but sometimes you just want the job done right the first time.
Space Needle Sky City
The Space Needle Restaurant has great food and an even greater view. You buy tickets to ride the elevator to the observatory platform and that's great but the restaurant is a must for the full experience. It isn't cheap but the food really is first class. It's more for adults and young adults, than children. I just don't think they would be as interested.
Seattle Aquarium
The Seattle Aquarium is more than it looks like it might be from the outside. They have a large variety of marine life and it's very interactive. Not only can you see a lot but you can even touch some of the displays. Leave a couple of hours available because you need to be able to take your time wandering through. You can also get a close look at the sea lions, which is the true highlight. Kids love it and adults will enjoy it too.
Ripley's Believe It or Not! Odditorium
Ripleys Believe It Or Not is a waste of time. It cost too much to see too little. You don't really see anything, it's just pictures or models of things that are unbeliveable. What's unbelievable is that people pay good money to see this stuff. We went with a large party and there wasn't a person there that thought they got their money's worth. Pass it up.
Jan's Paperbacks
Jans Paperbacks has any book you could be looking for in the fiction genre. If you want to sell your books to them you can get a credit to use in the store. The ladies that work there are very nice and helpful. The prices make it possible to come out with a shopping bag of books at the same price you would buy one hardback for. This is what recycling is all about.
Dollar Tree
The Dollar Tree has an excellent selection if you're shopping for a classroom or a kids birthday party. They have an enormous variety of items to use as favors or student incentives. You don't need to ask the price because - it's a dollar. Their gift wrap and greeting cards are great, a real money saver. If you work for a school district just show your id or pay stub and it now becomes the 90 cent store because of the 10% discount allowed educators.
Circle Line Sightseeing At 42nd Saint
Circle Line Cruises will take you straight out to The Statue of Liberty and then on to Ellis Island. The lines move quickly. The actual boat ride is a lot of fun and there is plenty to see. When you get dropped off at Liberty Island it's breathtaking. The statue is amazing. There is a nice little snack area inside and a wonderful gift shop. When you're done, hop the boat back to the city of stop off at Ellis Island. It's great.
Empire State Building Observatory
Why would anyone go to New York and not go up in the Empire State Building? The view was fantastic and worth the wait. We went at night and the lights were amazing. The Chrysler Building is beautiful from above. If it isn't a summer month, take a coat because it's pretty cold that far up in the air. The wait was long, the line snaking through the building for what seemed like forever but when you finally arrived the wait was forgotten. Go by the building a few times and watch for short lines. There are times when your wait will be very short but there are other times when the line curls around the building. If that's the case use the restroom first because there are no opportunities to go after you get in line. The gift shop had souveniers for everyone and the prices weren't too bad. It's a must see.
