Purina Farms
This is a animal farm that does tours and teaches about animal farm life. It is a very large area with lots of different farm animals to look at. The baby pigs are a favorite. A tour guide will show you around and give lots of animal facts. Because of school field trips here in spring and fall this place can get very crowded.
Muny
This a great experience for the young and old. The plays put on here are as good as the ones you would see on Broadway. The sets are elaborate and the acting is outstanding. The only draw back is the fact that it is an outdoor theater, so weather concerns are a problem. The do have large fans that blow gently during very hot evenings.
St Louis Carousel
This place has a huge carousel that is over a hundred years old. It has been fully restored and the kids and adults can take a ride on it. It is just beautiful! They also have on the grounds, a historical village of early St.louis history. There are several old homes and such, set in a small village to walk through. Very nice..
The Great Frame Up
This is probably not the best place to go to get your framing needs done on a budget. They are extremly expensive and the add ons really add up. The work is good but took a very long time and I'm pretty sure that it could have been done elsewhere for less and with a shorter wait.
Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site
This the site of the Cahokia Indians burial ground. It is amazing to see. There are these very large burial mounds that you can walk to the top of and see for miles. Lots of history in this place. It also has a very good and informative museam housed on the grounds. It goes into great detail about the lives of the Cahokia Indians.
Bob Kramer Marionnettes Inc
This is a puppet show like feel on a very large scale. The marionettes are the stars of the show. Kids always seem to love this. The show is lively and keeps their attention. Parents on the hand will probably be a bit bored. This is best for the 7 and under age groups.
Anheuser-Busch Brewery
Located in downtown St.Louis, this is a must see ! Dispite the fact that it is a Beer Brewery, this is fun for the whole family. First you take a tour of the facilities. There is alot of history here and even my 8 year old was interested. You will even get to watch the bottles of beer being processed. At the end, they have a beer tasting. The kids get soda and pretzels. Nice gift shop at the end. Admission is free. Parking is free.
The Vein Center
This is a great place to get rid of unwanted spider veins! I have tried several other places and this is by far the best. The fees are average, but the staff is excellant. It was fairly painless and the person doing the work was funny and friendly, so it made the whole process go by faster.
Powder Valley Nature Ctr
This is a great place to get your exercise and see nature. They have winding paths through wooded areas that you can walk. They are never crowded so you really feel your out in a peaceful nature setting without a crowd. They also have a little display center in a small building that has some interesting animals to look at. (Turtles, Birds, snakes, etc..)
Oriental Rug Palace
This store has a very large showroom with lot to look at. The rugs are just beautiful. They will do custom rugs and even oversized or odd size rugs. The salesperson is very helpful and they even have a complimentary design service to help you with your selection. Very happy with this store!
