Dragon Tears
I went into this store to ask about getting a interior transom for my new house. The woman working there was very helpful and friendly with helping me decide which colors would be more cost effective. She gave me an approximate price, which was higher than I wanted to pay. But, she had the designer call me on the phone to give me a definite price. I even get a friendly response to an e-mail they sent me and am considering taking one of their stained glass classes.

I went to this store to get an estimate for an interior stained glass transom. I knew the sizes I needed, but wasn't sure of the design I would want. I was hoping they could help me decide this, but they really didn't seem interested in getting my business. They dismissed me, saying the size transom I wanted would be "really expensive". They wouldn't elaborate when I asked them if they had any designs I could look at and get an idea of their price. In their defense, I get this reaction a lot, I must look like I can't afford anything.

I prefer this older, more run down office to the fancy new office in Portage. It is easier to get an appointment and the wait time are considerably shorter once you get there. The office staff is generally friendly and helpful. Everything just seems to run smoother here. You see the same doctors that are at the other Promed offices, so the care is the same.

Previous to my most recent medical problem, I would have rated this office a 2 or a 3. But, after a doctor made a potentially fatal misdiagnosis, I can't rate it higher than a 1.
I made an appointment with Dr. Pinon after suffering from severe abdominal pain for 2 days (and less severe pain for 8 days before that). I had never seen this particular doctor before as there are dozens of doctors at this practice and I almost never see the same one twice. Almost as soon as he walked into the office he had diagnosed me with dyspepsia, or acid reflux. So, he made all of my symptoms fit his diagnosis. My fever of 101 degrees didn't fit with his diagnosis, so he dismissed it saying it was because it was a hot day. As he pushed on my stomach in several areas, I told him where it hurt the most. He completely ignored me and said all of my pain was in the area of the stomach. He went through a list of signs of acid reflux, all of which I told him I didn't have. But, he insisted this was what was wrong with me and prescribed Prevacid for me to take.
Luckily, at the pharmacy, I found out I couldn't take Prevacid while nursing a baby (I had told Dr. Pinon I was nursing). Otherwise, I would have probably tried to live with the pain for another week or so to give the medication time to work. I called the office and practically begged for something else I could do to relieve the pain (which I equated with labor). I was told there was nothing they could do for me unless I stopped nursing and took the Prevacid.
The following day, the pain was absolutely excruciating and I went back in and saw another doctor, Dr. Slater. She was very concerned that I had a fever as well as abdominal pain, especially since it was only 5 weeks after having a baby. She immediately sent me to the emergency room for testing.
I was diagnosed with portal vein thrombosis, a life threatening blood clot, and was hospitalized for 10 days. My hematologist told me that if I had waited much longer, my bowel would have died. I did not expect Dr. Pinon to diagnose this exact problem, but he should have taken me more seriously and sent me for testing, as Dr. Slater did. This kind of incompetence in the medical community should not be accepted.
PROS: same day appointments
CONS: some awful doctors are mixed in with the good ones
Promed Physicians-Pediatrics
This is the newest and nicest office of the local ProMed Peds. They have a nice fish tank that my daughter enjoys watching while we wait. The office staff is friendly and helpful. The wait time is usually minimal and the doctors have all been great. I can almost always get a same day appointment. Our favorite is Dr. Davis. He makes my daughter feel comfortable and she loves that he says he sees fairies or other silly things in her ears.

This office is a little more run down and dated looking than the other Pro Med Peds offices in the area. However, they have the best business hours. They are open on evenings and weekends and have the same doctors that you would see in the other offices. I have always been happy with the care my daughter has received at Pro Med Peds.
Kalamazoo 10
This is the 2nd nicest theater in town (Crossroads Cinema being 1st). It has comfortable stadium seating and a great sound system. The theater always looks clean. This is also the highest priced theater in town.
Three Rivers 6
This theater is a good option if you don't want to drive to a larger town. The prices are reasonable, the selection is good, and the theater itself is fairly nice. It's starting to look a little run down and the seats aren't very comfortable. But, it has stadium seating, which is nice.
Celebration Cinema
My husband and I went on our first date at this theater 15 years ago. So, I was a little sad when they remodeled the old UA at Crossroads. But, I went back to see how they improved it and- WOW!! The theaters now have stadium seating and the seats are absolutely luxurious for a movie theater! They partially recline and are heavily padded, even with padded armrests! Of course cup holders are included as well. I have not yet seen the new lobby, but I'm sure it's wonderful as the outside looks great!
Three Rivers Inn
This hotel looks very run down and poorly maintained. I used to attend meetings at this location and was always surprised that it actually had guests. The sidewalks are not kept clear in the Winter and it gets VERY slippery! There is just a "dirty" feeling to the lobby. The pool area looks fairly nice and there is free coffee and donuts in the lobby.
