Oopsy Daisy is what you would consider fine art, with kids in mind. What started as a company that offered fine art pieces catering specifically to children in 1999, has grown into a successful company that creates everything from framed art to growth charts, door decorations, to canvas murals, and so much more. They truly are the leaders in fine art furnishings for children. All of their products are manufactured in the USA, so you are supporting USA businesses when you buy from them. The prices are a bit high end, but you have to remember that the pieces are considered fine art pieces, and are not just your average childrens decorative items. A piece from Oopsy Daisy would be the perfect gift for that child who has everything, including a fully decorated room. You are sure to find something to fit every childs tastes in this store. The best thing about Oopsy Daisy is that they donate a portion of sales annually to childrens charities. So, when you buy a piece from Oopsy Daisy, you are not only supporting products made in the USA, but also supporting childrens charities. They are very active in the community, especially with childrens causes, and they really are more then just a money making company and that is evident in their annual corporate donations.
Baby Trader Childrens Resale is one of the few resale shops that actually gives you fair value for the baby items that you bring in for them to buy back. While many stores offer you a whole lot less then the item is actually worth, and then turn it around and sell it for a whole lot more, Baby Trader Childrens Resale does the opposite, they pay you a fair value for your items, and then turn around and sell them in their store at prices you, and other parents just like you can actually afford. Some of the items in the store look brand new, and even "gently used" items will definately stand up to a lot of wear, tear, and love. Your child grows so fast when they are small, why not buy high quality stuff for your baby for less. It makes no sense to pay full price at overly priced chain stores, when you can get the same exact items here for a whole lot less. The store is clean, and they are very up to date on current recalls, and will not sell anything that there has been a recall on. The prices, as I already mentioned are very affordable, and the employees are friendly, caring, and eager to answer your questions. Unlike some resale shops, you won't find spotted clothes here, instead you will find clothes that have been washed and "smell like new". Whether you are looking for something for your own child, or you are looking to purchase a gift, if you don't want to spend a fortune on baby gear the child will outgrow, give Baby Trader Childrens Resale a try, you won't be sorry that you did.

Parkway Bowl is a bowling alley that is really geared to families. Unlike traditional bowling alleys, where the employees seem inconvenienced by young children who are not expert bowlers, the employees at Parkway Bowl are very, very patient with young children, and beginning bowlers, whether they need help selecting the right bowling ball, working the scoring machine, or need help retrieving a dead ball off of the bowling lane. Price wise, they are about average, compared to other bowling alleys in San Diego. Of course, not just kids will enjoy Parkway Bowl, its a great place for families, as well as singles to hang out and enjoy a day, afternoon, or entire evening of bowling. Midnight bowling is by far the best (and the cheapest) time to go and its a lot of fun, especially if you can leave the kids at home. This is one of the larger bowling alleys, and as such, its pretty easy to get a lane, even on a busy Saturday. This is also a great place to shoot a game of pool, and compared to the pool tables at other bowling alleys, it's competively priced.
Whether you are visiting San Diego for the first time or the thousandth time, you really can't miss dropping by Mission Beach. The beach boasts a boardwalk, an arcade, fair style food and rides, as well as this wonderful old wooden roller coaster. The roller coaster has been around for years, and whether you love roller coasters or you hate them, it is tame enough for the entire family, even those who don't like roller coasters. If you are a roller coaster enthusiast, you will appreciate the wooden roller coaster "rickety" feeling of this coaster, and the thrill can be quite nice, especially if there is a slight breeze outside. This is the same roller coaster that was made "famous" in the roller coaster riding radio competition a couple years ago, when a local radio statio had people live in the roller coaster cars, drink warm Mountain Dew, and many other "tactics" to determine who could ride the roller coaster the longest, and ultimately, take home a car. If you watched the roller coaster competition on television when it made the news, and wondered how long you could hold out on the coaster, beware, the price of the coaster is a bit steep compared to the length of the ride. However, you do get a beautiful view of the area, and it's well worth a trip every time you are in the city of San Diego.
Aztec Center Bowling is in a very convenient location if you are an SDSU college student. If you do attend SDSU, then Aztec Center Bowling is a great place to meet students who like to do things besides partying, dont get me wrong, the place can get a bit wild, when its chalk full of college students, but it has a relatively small number of bowling lanes, and is generally a lot less crowded than some of the other bowling alleys in town. The best part about Aztec Center Bowling is definitely the prices, compared to other bowling alleys in town; you definitely get more bowling for your buck. Its also one of the few places where you can get a pool table, without a long wait, when the bowling alley isnt very crowded. They have some normal arcade style video games as well. The staff is very friendly. The bowling alley is very well maintained, and even the bathrooms are clean, which is rare for a bowling alley. Whether you are a student new to the area looking to meet new people, a family looking for a fun place for a family night of bowling, or having a bowling party for your childs birthday, then Aztec Center Bowling and Games is the best place to go, without breaking the bank.
The Safari Animal Collection is one of the older Sea Port Village stores that existed in the original Sea Port Village set up. The Safari Animal Collection store is a small little shop that features just about everything that you could possibly print an animal on, in a single store. It is the sort of store that you might expect to find at the San Diego Zoo or Wild Animal Park, but instead, you will find it nestled in the waterfront, easily accessible Sea Port Village Shopping center. From stuffed animals to sculptures, you are sure to find it in this store. The best thing about this store is that hey carry many different kinds of animals, including animal merchandise that features hard to find animals such as meerkats. The employees are knowledgeable, friendly, and are great at helping you locate a specific type of animal, or a specific breed of animal, for any animal lover on your gift giving list. Kids will love the wide variety of stuffed toys, ranging from cute and cuddly to loud and squeaky and everything in between. Parents will love the fact that the prices here are cheaper then the stores at the zoo or Wild Animal Park, and yet the kids can still have a fun animal themed souvenir to commemorate a special visit to one of San Diegos animal attractions. Whether you visit Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, or the Wild Animal Park, drop by the Safari Animal Collection later for a souvenir from whales to monkeys, to giraffes and zebras, you are sure to find the perfect animal souvenir for animal lovers of all ages. While they do have a variety of items for animal lovers who are not kids (or kids at heart), they really do specialize in animal themed children's items like stuffed animals and other small toys.
