Shorin Ryu Karate & Kobudo

My brother took karate classes here not too long ago. The instructor is very well taught, having studied in Japan for many years. His style of Karate is very interesting and he teaches it in a manner that teaches people to only use it when protecting themselves. I dont think that this is something thats taught at too many places. It is very useful for people to know how to protect themselves.

Airedale Antics

In Old St. Charles, there are a lot of cute little shops. This is one of them. They sell antiques, airedale and other dog breed products as well as do some minor furniture resurfacing. We had a desk worked on by them and they did a great job getting the old paint off. The array of dog products is great! They have some of the cutest dog treats. The parking is a little tight though, as they share a smaller lot with two other shops and a home.

Powder Room

I use Bare Esscentuals make up and hate that I have to drive 30 minutes to pick some up when I run out. I recently found out that this salon/store sells the full line of B.E. It saves me nearly 15 minutes! Wonderful. When you walk through the door, you are instantly greeted and helped. Very Friendly Staff! And they dont mark up the make up items either. Even better. They also have a full salon, hair and nails, and sell other accessories, such as purses, candles and other female-oriented items. Its very Pink!

Camel Crossing

My mom and brother stayed here one weekend. It was late notice and they came to visit me at school. This was the only place with an available room. It is an old house and they have turned all of the bedrooms into guest rooms. Its interesting because the decorations in the rooms are their daughters. And there are camels EVERYWHERE!

Those Were the Days II

This place is huge! You walk up and think its just another antique store. No way! Its 3 Floors of everything! Ive found some Sega games in great condition and a sega console cheap. Not everthing is old. Some of the vendors sell clothing that it nearly brand new along with shoes in the same condition. You definitely need to dedicate a day to this place. You could be in there for hours!

Wilcoxen Office Supply

This place used to be good. They were in a larger shop with more of a selection of office supplies. Now they are in a smaller space with less choices. They have to order everything that they dont carry. I would rather go to a chain store to get what I need.

Robbie G's Play Place

This place has every costume you could ever want. Everything is in pretty good shape too. It is a dark and dusty place, and the employees are a breed of their own. But if you need something, this is the place to look!
A friend and I rented rennaisance style dresses from them. We also bought fangs from them and went as vampires, like in Interview with a Vampire, for Halloween.

Saint Louis Zoo

This place is great. Everything you could want in a zoo. They just recently updated the African exhibits and the Penguin house. And last I knew.. The entrance to the park was Free! Parking can be a pain though.

Big Bear Sports - Snow Summit

This place is beautiful covered in snow. I took one of their offered snow boarding classes. It was irritating because they dont really do a one on one with you in the class. You just move through the course, even if you didnt understand the last part. I really liked it, even when I wasnt on the slopes.

Missouri Botanical Garden Libr

This place is a great place. I wouldnt recommend dragging children here unless they are interested in plants. I was taken as a child and grew to spite the place. I have since realized that it is amazing. They have an annual orchid show that is phenomenal and a Japanese festival that is awesome.
