Kind of an odd combination shop, flowers, gifts and photo equipment! But the gift items are a bit unique and not the same ones found in the zillions of gift shops in this tourist area, you'll see things that are new to you even if you practically haunt gift shops. Odd location, in a strip center that doesn't draw a lot of in and out customers, but worth a stop if you are in the area and like to wander and see a variety of items. The proprietor/help always seems friendly and you don't feel compelled to spend money if nothing grabs you that day.
PROS: Unusual assortment of items
I was a member of Shapes at this location for a few years. I found the personnel to be friendly and helpful, whether you had joined under a promotion or were paying full dollar. The staff is knowledgeable about the equipment and friendly as well (and most of the other customers are too), and readily available to assist if a question or problem arises. There weren't enough showers/restrooms for a facility only catering to women!! The equipment was clean and adequate, and appropriate weights were available for the machines without having to wander around tracking them down. They offer a variety of programs.
PROS: Lots of parking, never seemed crowded to excess
CONS: Never enough showers/restrooms for a woman's facility
I visited this dental office on an emergency basis prior to a holiday weekend. The office staff was most helpful about squeezing me in and the wait was not excessive. Dr. Pittman was knowledgeable and explained all of the different options available to me clearly (and with their cost!) which allowed me to make an informed decision about the treatment. I later found that my boss uses her as well. The staff seemed friendly and careful. I was a bit surprised that she didn't do root canals, but instead refers them out, but didn't ask why.
PROS: Comprehensive, knowledgeable
I was worried when Dr. Hampilos took over the practice of Dr. Variden after his death. Dr. Variden was wonderful and a hard act to follow, but Speros Hampilos, DO is doing a fine job! The office remains friendly and accommodating, the visits are still thorough and unrushed, and the doctor and staff are caring. I'm very pleased with the care I continue to receive from the office and don't plan to change. Good parking.
PROS: Thorough but caring
I've been a patient of Dr. Ison on and off for over 20 years. He's always friendly, reassuring and honest. His staff is relatively unchanged and is very friendly - many of the patients have been long term and they know the family, come in the waiting room to say hi, etc. I've continued to seek treatment with him whether he was or was not on my insurance plan and when I've had none - because it's so rare to find a doctor both competent and friendly (and reasonable).
PROS: Friendly and competent
Located by the main library, Lakeside is a small medical center with orthopedic physicians who do a lot of work with the Devil Rays. I took my sister to several appointments there, and although the care was good, it wasn't anything I'd really recommend. The waiting time was always exceedingly long - and it seemed rather a case of overbooking rather than emergencies. The visits seemed rushed, probably for that reason, and it just didn't have a "friendly" atmosphere.
PROS: Easy central St. Pete location
CONS: Overbooked, long waits, not particularly friendly.
We've used Small Moves a couple of times relocating our office, and both times they've been prompt and professional. They arrive on time, with the equipment they need, and are careful but fast. We didn't experience any breakage, and the guys work hard, not a bunch of breaks that you are paying by the hour for. Moving is a gruesome job, but Small Moves makes it easier for a reasonable price and appears when promised.
Actually located in St. Pete Beach, FL, Evander Preston isn't a jewelry store per se, but rather a jewelry designer. For gorgeous, unique and very contemporary designs, it is the place to go! Unique settings abound, it's definitely not a place to visit if you are shopping on a limited budget or looking for an antique style of anything. Clean, classic looking pieces that are meant for a lifetime are what is found here. If that's your style (and it IS mine), you'll be glad to have made the trip!
PROS: Unique and fabulous
CONS: Parking is sometimes difficult, but SPB is fun to walk a bit in
Pasadena Jewelers is a "full service" type jeweler, it carries all of the usual selection of watches, rings, bracelets, etc., but it also offers watch and jewelery repair at reasonable prices, remounting services, and a selection of estate jewelry too if you are looking for something unique. There's plenty of friendly help. Their repairs aren't sent somewhere else, they are done on site, and they'll do minimal stuff (watch batteries, etc.) while you wait.
PROS: Long term, friendly, some unique items & services
I took my sister to several appointments w/Dr. Clarke after an auto accident. Never heard a poor opinion voiced of him. I thought he was a tad cavalier as to surgical options (but it's his business, not his bones), but she had excellent results from his care and treatment, and actually the bone in her neck healed so well that she didn't even require follow up after the course of treatment was completed. The office is nice and the personnel seemed friendly and knowledgeable.
