I heard good reports before calling Father & Sons, and my experience didn't change that. They promptly scheduled an appointment to come out, called to let me know they'd be a little late, and provided a speedy repair at a reasonable price. A new unit was recommended (but NOT incorrectly) as mine definitely was limping along. The repair held up fine, and prices provided for new units were in line or lower than other local HVAC dealers. I'll definitely consider them as a top choice when I have to bite the bullet and get a new unit.
The veterinarians and other personnel at Tyrone are among the best I've encountered. They are extremely caring, remember your animals even when they only appear for annual vaccinations, and just seem to be empathetic and caring. If you've got plenty of money, it's wonderful. On the downside, they seem to be pushing more "preventative bloodwork", expensive flea/tick medications, etc., and if you don't watch out, they'll make you feel like a bad "furmom" if you pass on those extras. Nonetheless, the exams are thorough and the personnel extra friendly and caring.
New books, old books, rare books - all under one large roof. Allow lots of time for browsing in this long term fixture of St. Petersburg. The selection is marvelous no matter what you are looking for and the personnel both knowledgeable and anxious to please and be helpful. Their speciality is books - it's not a sideline or an adjunct or afterthought to a gift shop or coffeehouse, and they do it well. Huge parking lot for easy access, and a browser's and buyers paradise. There's a reason they've been in business so long - their business is books and they know them well.
PROS: Huge variety, easy access, knowledgeable help
Conveniently located near downtown, but in a building with easy access and it's own parking lot (difficult to find in downtown St. Pete), Mr. McLeod is hardworking and pleasant and quite busy. Nonetheless, he is always available for his clients, leaving time in his schedule for convenient appointments and returning calls. You won't feel like a "number" - but rather a valued client.
This office was closed last month due to a sting by local, state and federal law enforcement officers. Information can be obtained by googling if necessary, but it is no longer a functioning business.
This veterinarian office is not the shiniest, or the most high tech, but the prices are reasonable, and they don't try to "oversell" you on food or preventative bloodwork. Although I've only had to vist for routine annual exams for my cats, the caring personnel have been great, and the waiting room is usually populated by happy post surgical dogs. If you are looking for a quality "basic" vet's office - this one will fill the bill for your furbabies.
PROS: Reasonable prices, caring personnel
I began going to this salon when I worked in the building - they are located in an office building. Although the name sounds old-fashioned, and many of their clientele are in fact, elderly, they have stylists for whatever your need. I recommend Holly, but lean toward the younger side. Fresh coffee and often cookies, friendly personnel, but best of all - I'm always happy with my cut. It gets busy during tourist season, but as a "regular" they'll squish you in if necessary - and you won't feel rushed.
I've been doing business with Iler Wall & Shonter for several years and have always found that they offer appropriate products at reasonable prices. Calls are returned promptly if the agent is with a customer, follow up is good and and questions are answered knowledgably and in as much detail as required. Somehow it feels more "neighborly" than the huge agencies, and I like dealing with friendly, local people.
Tom and the other personnel at South Pinellas are always helpful if you have a question or problem with your pool. They sell pool chemicals/toys/supplies and the prices are reasonable and the sales are good, but they excel in answering questions and solving problems. Their repair department is good as well - usually appearing when they say and calling if the schedue prohibits. I've never encountered a problem with a repair and the service people are always friendly. Can't ask for more.
I've always received great service from Nationwide South. They have been in their location for a long time and are an approved AAA tower as well. They stay busy, but they are good about calling with estimates and the car is always ready when promised. The prices have always been comparable and the work done well - they are like an old fashioned neighborhood garage - prompt and friendly. I've never felt overcharged or "oversold" in the years I've patronized them. An honest repair shop.
