Waterbury Aquarium
After reading the previous review, I felt I had to review this store. My first impression was honestly that it was dirty and overpriced. They sell/buy a lot of used equipment which makes for a cluttered looking store. However, after visiting a few times what I realized was that while the store itself is cluttered, the owner is friendly and knowledgeable and the tanks are well maintained. You will definitely pay more for fish than you will at Petco, but you likely won't have ick or dead fish either. My 6 year old calls the store the one with the owner who actually knows about fish.
John's Lock Svc
They advertise 24 hour emergency service on the website. My father has used them a few times through the years. Today, his key would not work and I was told no one could come out until tomorrow. He had just returned from our house-3 hours away and was locked out. Apologetic, but not helpful. This was a Sunday afternoon, not even the middle of the night.
Carousel Kids Quality Cnsgnmnt
This shop has some good buys on children's clothing and toys. I am very picky, and do have a hard time finding many clothes, but the toys are always a good value. They occassionally get higher end Pottery Barn rugs/bedding in. It is really hit or miss, but the owner is very friendly and helpful. It is a bit difficult to look around with children, because there is no children's play area.
Once Upon A Child
This place gives back all but the most perfect clothes, yet their racks are filled with junk. You can get some really good buys if you are willing to search. I recently went to consign 9 pairs of like new shoes and 5 one piece outfits (Gap or Better). They told me they'd give me $25 for all of it. The girl was really rude when I said I'd take it back. I'll never bring clothes there again.

I had the worst experience ever at this place, and it seems to always be this way. We made an appoinment 2 years ago and waited for over an hour after our scheduled time. The photographers looked like they were ready to leave. It was so hot, and the place was packed, they obviously overbook. One photographer tripped over a wire, hurt her back, and proceeded to take pictures of the kid while lying on the ground. I'm not kidding...

While this is not the worst JC Penney studion, I would not recommend them. The woman who took the majority of the pictures is not very good at engaging the kids or sitting them up for poses. I had to go back 3 times to get one picture for our Christmas card last year. The positive is, if you go online you can get great prices on packages and don't have to buy it you are not happy.
Frankie's Of Naugatuck
This is a really casual place that has great hot dogs, burgers, and fries. It is one of those places that you always get a craving for when the weather starts getting warmer. The Waterbury location has picnic tables outside and is attached to an ice cream place. It is all open air, so make sure you go on a nice day!
The Milestone Inn
This is a rustic old inn with stonework and a beautiful, rustic interior. The atmosphere is very cozy and perfect for a fall or winter meal. The food is good, not spectacular, but they have excellent duck. They also always have discounts at the restaurant.com website. My husband had an excellent fish there. The chicken parmesan is alright. Only flaw was the lack of chocolate desserts the night we went.
Score Physical Therapy
My husband and I have both been here for physical therapy and then joined the gym. It is very nice, small, low key. Everyone is friendly and there is no fighting over machines. The physical therapists are very friendly and helpful. They also have a massage therapist on staff. I would highly recommend this gym if you are looking for a nice place to work out without the hassle of a large facility and waiting on lines.
Saint Marys Hospital
I can only go by our one experience when my sister had her first child there. The nurses were not helpful or friendly (for the most part) and one of them actually reprimanded my brother-in-law for sitting down on the edge of the bed. She was much happier at Waterbury Hospital when she had her 2nd child.
