For years I worked around the corner from Humphreys Of Orange , so I have lunched here frequently. It is a nice place. They have excellent burgers, and their salads are huge. My entire family is always able to find multiple things on the menu that they want to eat. It is very clean, sometimes crowded and often noisy. this holds especially true as the happy hour crowd rolls in. Their prices are average, and there is always plenty of parking.
I can't review the motel, as i have never been in it. The restaurant is large and open with ocean views. The food is just average diner food. The menu is comprehensive like any other diner. There is a friendly staff, and the prices are reasonable. It was never meant to be a 5 star place, and it isn't. It's average with a view.
All I can say about Country Corner Diner is average. Average prices, average menu, average food. The staff is very nice, and there is plenty of parking. But this place is, and will only ever be, average.
It's sad to have seen the decline of what was once a good place to go. The last time I ate here, I knew I wouldn't be back. The menu is the same as every other diner, as are the prices, but the taste and freshness of the food left a lot to be desired. The fries tasted as if the oil in the fryers was old, the buns were dry, as in not too freh, and the lettuce was wilted on the burger. Not my first choice, ever!
I like to say that Billys Old Fashioned Ice Cream is so rich, it kind of arches your plastic spoon like a fishing rod with a really big fish on it. It's true!. Their hand made ice cream is delicious, so rich and creamy. They have great flavors. I like the thin mint and raspberry truffle. They are right on Rte. 63 in Bethany, across from the old airport. Parking is plentiful, the prices are great and the portions are huge!
There is a reason why Nardellis Grinder Shoppe is consistently voted the best grinder shop in the area, and even the state. It could be their incredible bread, which is crusty on the out side, and moist and light on the inside. It could be the freah and high quality coldcuts they use. It could be the assortment of good toppings and sauce available. No matter what reason you choose, they all add up to why you should try this place!!
Dip Top is practically an institution on the Post Road! It has been there forever, except for during a brief rebuilding period after a devastating fire. There are so many different flavors of dip, it is hard to choose. The prices are good Parking is no trouble, but there are not a lot of places to sit and eat your ice cream.
The Seymour Lumber & Supply Company is my new favorite hardware store. Recently I wanted to install a set of French doors in my home. After shopping around, I got the best price from Seymour Lumber. The two big home improvement centers not only wanted more money for them, they also would take three weeks longer to get them in, and I would have to prime them myself. Seymour Lumber not only delivered them for free that week, I saved a lot of time by not having to prime them before painting. Lesson here - don't assume the big chains will be cheaper.
For years now, I look forward to the annual company picnic at Holiday Hill in Cheshire. They have very nice facilities, the food is good, and there is always something to do. My kids adore the rides and games on the little midway they have. They also enjoy the rock climbing wall and the pony rides. We always go for a paddle boat ride, and get our faces painted. The pool is frequently over crowded, so we tend to avoid that, but we don't miss it because there is plenty else to do.
Cape Cod Crafters Incorporated is a cool little shop. It is like a giant craft fair, but it is there and open everyday, and since it is indoors, the weather will always be great to check this place out. It is set up like a a lots of small cubicles, one crafter assigned to each. It is a great place for seasonal decor. Prices can vary wildly from one booth to the next, so you can always looks for a better price right within the shop. There is always plenty of parking.
