They have a good selection of used books. A HUGE selection, actually, but the small location makes for stuffy quarters with all the books. It's very cramped and a little disorganized, but if you have the time and patience you can find some really great bargains.
Sakurabana Japanese Restaurant
Sakurabana is one of my favorite restaurants in Sacramento. They have great service and good prices. They have a subtly cozy atmosphere that makes you want to stay for hours and enjoy your food. Which I do. I usually get their teriyaki chicken and it is delicious!
Paesanos Pizzeria
I love Paesanos. They're a small, chic, Italian restaurant. They have pastas, pizzas, salads, sandwiches, and more. I love the small, cozy, atmosphere. They have outdoor seating which is my favorite. You can sit outside and gaze upon beautiful downtown Sacramento. I always get the same thing....Margherita pizza. They have great prices, a full service bar, cozy tables. I love it.
Ollie's Tavern
Here's the deal. If you're looking for cheap beer, Ollie's has it. The atmosphere is almost gross. The carpet is worn and everything looks worn down. They basically just have beer. If you're looking for Grey Goose, forget it. They don't have it. I was actually happy when we actually left. But, it's a popular place. It was PACKED when we went there. So, check it out at your own risk...maybe I'm missing something.
Sumthin Savvy Boutique And Spa
I came here to purchase a birthday present for a friend. They have designer clothes, jewelry, and accessories. The prices are what you would expect for designer items. I can't say I was overly impressed with their selection, but if you're in a hurry you're sure to find something you like.
Wild Oats
I come here when I'm trying to eat healthy. I love Wild Oats. They have organic food products, vitamins, organic lotions, etc. They have reasonable prices, especially for the health industry. They also have a meat counter and deli. You can get fresh meat, cheeses, salads. I come here for lunch sometimes and get a sandwich.
Bodymod
I came here about a year ago to get my nostril pierced. This was my first piercing (besides my ears) and I LOVE it! I can't remember the guys name who did the actual piercing, but he was so cool and helpful. I didn't feel a thing and I love, love, love it! I had to go back a few months later because I thought my nose was looking swollen. He totally walked me through the cleaning process again, which I hadn't been following, and everything cleared up so well. They are very big on cleanliness and keeping a sterile environment. I just went back again recently because the faux diamond fell out of my nose ring. They replaced the ring for free! I love them here. Every time I go in they are so great.
Glam Girl Boutique
Glam Girl has some great designer items for women and children. Juicy sweat suits, Frankie B jeans, Roberto Cavalli sunglasses. They have a few select men's items also. Their prices are typical designer prices. You're not getting a 'better' deal here. My suggestion, go to Nordstrom. They have a wider selection and WAY better customer service.
Circle City Nails
I recently quit coming here. They are your typical run of the mill cheap nail place. I used to come here to get waxed. My usual girl, who did an amazing job, quit and I started to see Christina. She did good work, but she NEVER listened to what I wanted. I specifically went to her a few days before a wedding for which I was the maid of honor. I asked her, as usual, not to wax in a certain place because it causes me to break out terribly (we had been over this at least 3 times). I told her it was very important because I break out and I was going to be in a wedding and taking photographs. Next thing I know she's putting wax on my face in the place I specifically asked her not to!! I told her to stop and asked her why she didn't listen. She laughed it off and mumbled something about 'it's okay and it'll look good'. I was FURIOUS and I've never been back.
Cornerstone
I come here for breakfast. If you live downtown, it's a perfect weekend brunch spot. You can walk to the restaurant and sit outdoors if you'd like. I always get the same thing...avocado and cheese omelet with tomatoes on the side. I definitely recommend them.
