Dorian's Shoe Repair
We discovered Dorian's Shoe Repair on a trip to downtown Portland. My husband was looking for relief for the fit of a new pair of shoes, which were slipping slightly. After visiting several shoe stores, a kind clerk at Macy's suggested Dorian's where the owner, Dorian Butcher found exactly what was needed. We enjoyed his personable manner and were delighted to know that a speciality of the store is the "rebirking" Birkenstocks. We will be returning soon!
Trinette's Flowers & Gifts
I have been dealing with Trinette's Floral for 30 years...in this location as well as in their former locations...and I have never been disappointed. They have sent flowers locally and arranged flowers to be sent all over the country, making sure a personal touch is added. We have called upon Trinettes to provide flowers for many special occasions and have appreciated the willingness of the owner and staff to listen to our needs. Highly recommended!
Bipartisan Cafe
We have been to The Bipartisan a few times. Delicious bagels...cozy neighborhood atmosphere..easy to find...near SE 82nd...give it a try!
Monti's Cafe
We like Monti's Cafe because it has simple comfort food at decent prices. It is in the Montavilla neighborhood which is fun to explore and an easy walk from SE 82nd. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Give it a try!
Hog Heaven Bar-B-Q
Hog Heaven is a a delicious barbecue destination for Duke students and those at UNC and their friends and relatives. My daughter introduced me to Hog Heaven during my first visit to North Carolina and I made sure to return on my next trip.
Taco House Original
A friend from Cleveland High School introduced me to this Mexican Restaurant when we were freshmen at Lewis and Clark College. It became a favorite destination for my dorm mates when we could manage to borrow a car to drive across the river. The food was and still is good and reasonably priced.
Cactus Jacks's Tex-Mex Cafe
I was introduced to Cactus Jack's by a friend several years ago. It is probably not a place I would have gone on my own, but I am glad that I tried it. The food is good, the prices are reasonable and the atmosphere unique.
El Indlo Mexican Restaurant
El Indio was recommended to us by a friend who works near the restaurant. We enjoyed our meals and the reasonable prices. We have passed on the recommendation to other friends.
The Taco House Original
We have been going to this Mexican Restaurant since the 60's when it was recommended by Portland natives. It is reliable in food and in service. Sometimes there is a wait, but it is worth it.
Legin Restaurant
Our Chinese friends tell us this is their favorite restaurant. We enjoy the food and the service, and that it is conveniently located in SE Portland, just west of 82nd Ave. Definitely recommended.
