This is a great place to get an inexpensive cut. Cheryl has been cutting my kids hair for years and I am very satisfied. When I have a fancy occasion to go to I get a style there. I drive from Hillsboro just to see Cheryl. She has been in the business long enough to really know what she is doing. I always can get in an appointment on short notice, which I appreciate.
I went to this salon as part of a wedding party and was impressed. I gave a vague description of what I wanted, yet was pleased with the results. My mother goes to this salon regularly and is sporting an adorable haircut.
This place is a great alternative to the large chain stores. I like to shop local when I can. They have a good selection for such a small store. They have high quality toys and equipment and they staff is very helpful. My mother adopted a wonderful cat through their adoption program.
This is one of my favorite cheap eats in Hillsboro. They have a very authentic Mexican menu. It helps to know a little Spanish, but the wait staff is very patient. I can feed my hungry teen here without breaking the bank. They have a nice pepper and salsa bar to round out your meal.
Although this would be an excellent place for a date, good food, good wine, good mood lighting... we usually take the kids, because the staff is so patient with them. The food is also a winner with everyone. The cheese pizza is satisfactory to my picky 11 year old and yet my foodie Italian husband is also satisfied. They change up the menu periodically, so even if you are a regular, there are new things to try. One of my favorite nicer restaurants to go to when the family is celebrating.
I can't say enough about the care my small pets have received from Southwest. Both doctors really care about my pets like I do. They are very understanding of the special place even our small pets have in our hearts. I wish my human doctor took care of me the way Dr. Mark took care of my guinea pigs.
If you are into any yarn intensive arts this is a must see. I save my pennies, because I know I'm going to blow all my available cash on fleece, yarn, tools and books. Finding the store is a little tricky, but certainly worth the drive. They have an excellent online shop too. This place is a cornucopia of goodness. If you know a weaver, knitter, spinner or any other craft junkie jump in a car and drive to Carlton.
Our family took the tour as an excuse to let my husband sample some very rare US brewed sake. The kids had a great time and learned something. I enjoyed learning about the process of brewing. The sakery was beautiful and immaculately clean. The sake is very tasty and I must admit we came home with some. They chose this area because our water is as pure as the historic breweries in Japan. Tours are free BTW.
I like to grab a quick snack here when my kids are screaming that they are hungry and my husband and I are still wandering their wonderful grocery. Yummy quick eats.
Swagat has a great lunch buffet. Their dinners are a little on the pricy side. I like the buffet because there is always something new to try. The decor is breathtaking. There is quite a crowd at lunchtime, so I hope that means they will be in business for a long time.
