This is a great place to drop in for a sandwich or pick up a loaf to take home. They will slice to order. There are always yummy samples to try. For the win!
Tigard Pizza Kitchen
It's refreshing to find a small independently owned pizzaria anymore. The pizzas are delicious and they sell them by the slice or the pie. I also tried their hummous plate which was very good too. Just the thing to fortify you following an afternoon of shooting at the archery range.
Lucky Jade
I have taken my kids here for lunch. It is not fast food, but it is pretty quick and not too expensive. The cuisine is solid American style Chinese, nothing special but acceptable.
Viet & Thai Market
The Viet & Thai Market has an interesting selection of Asian groceries and ingredients, but looks like a third world market on the inside. I would not buy meat or veggies from them for possible health code concerns. There are other Asian markets in the Hillsboro area, although this is one of the older ones.
Full Sail Brewing Company
This place is a cut above your average pub food. Their sandwiches and burgers are delicious. The beer is excellent and has an expanded menu from their retail selections.
Powell's Technical Books
I think that this bookstore is unique in its niche market. Technical books of all stripes from medical to computer software line the shelves. There are a few sections that appeal to the general geek and those that get dragged into this store against their will regularly. This is a great place to consider when freeing up some shelf space too. They buy technical books if they are not too out of date.

This place has great bread and amazing sandwiches. Even though they have expanded, with shops in many towns and locations they still make a great loaf. These people care about what they do.
The Whisky Shop
This is an amazing store in a town full of amazing stores. This is store has the largest and finest collection of single malt whiskeys I have ever seen all in one place. Some of their stock I have never seen in a store before. If you are a conesieur of single malts this a place you must see before you die. They ship all over the country. Their collection goes from affordable to only dreamable. The staff is enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the topic and are happy to spend some time talking with you about your selections. The shop is also stocked with touristy goods from Scotland, for those that don't care for Scotch.
Dick's Drive-In Restaurants
I have been going to Dick's since the 1980s. If you want honest American fast food, I don't think you can beat Dick's. Their shakes and fries beat the pants of the big chains.
Sun-Ya Restaurant
This is a really world class dim sum place in an area lousey with them, but it is little known for some reason. The decor is beautiful, but the real jewels are the food. It comes to your table hot and steaming. My picky eater likes it because she can see what she's getting in advance. I have a friend who has been coming here even longer than I have and she says it only gets better.
