I walked in to confirm if dr Plawner participates with medicaid and was told he is. He is also listed as a participating provider. I asked what services i can have done with medicaid and scheduled an appointment.
Walked in, signed in, waited about 10-15 minutes, was seated in the chair, assistant tells me she needs to take a panorex x-ray. I had one recent pano x-ray with me on cd but she insisted to take another one. The moron doesn't know radiation is cumulative. What does she care. So i handed her the cd and told her to load it. Within a minute dr walked in with my cd, handed it to me, quickly looked inside my mouth, said something about how i can't get anything done with medicaid these days, and proceeded to walk out of the room. I asked if i can get cleaning, root canal, crown. He refused.
He wasted my time. Stay away from this con artist.
i walked in with a simple extraction, inquired about the cost, showed an x-ray film, was quoted $250. it was not an emergency case so i left and called to schedule an appointment for extraction. after the extraction on my way out i was told i owe $350. when asked why $100 difference, staff told me the dr felt it's worth $350. what a con artist. i thought a surgeon could do a better job but he did not even take post-op x-ray. could have taken it out for a $100 at any general dentist. he's also very quick, as if he's in a hurry. some surgeons like to preserve sockets with a graft to make sure there's enough bone when placing implant. he doesn't graft. he doesn't place implants. not a con but he never warned me. i found a cheaper surgeon who does everything when i went to replace teeth with implants.
I met this dentist at UMDNJ dental school in New Jersey. I came and asked for treatment. He approved and signed the treatment plan - exactly what i asked for. Told the idiot student doctor it's ethical. I didn't think anything of it until much later. This MORON absolutely DID NOT PLAN MY TREATMENT. Did not look at CT, did not measure anything, did not explain my condition and different options. Just like that - i asked, he approved. I had to see him twice because he forgot to give me oral exam the first time i saw him. This POS ruined my health and my life. Thanks to other doctors at the school and private offices i found out the plan was to fail me, because i asked. Long story short - they tried to get rid of me and succeeded. Temporarily. Doctors not affiliated with the school have nothing nice to say about this idiot DiPede or the whole school in general. I don't know how he managed to hold his license for so long. If this happened in his private practice he would not be a dentist now. There should be laws against crooks like him.
I can't understand the reason why he does not care about his customers. Do i have to be related to him to get decent care?
Is it lack of financial motivation or he simply doesn't give a sh*t? That and more i am going to find out soon when i finish my evaluation with real doctors and will present my case to the Board and court.
He was the first faculty doctor i saw at UMDNJ dental school. Hello, open, we can do this and that, and walked away.
This was his 3-minute treatment planning for my complicated case. None of my questions were answered, i asked the half-brained student doctor to see him again because i cannot possibly proceed without him answer all my questions. I was told to return weeks later, came three times but dr. Appelbaum was not there. Finally i saw another doctor, who deserves a separate 1-star review.
Here's one thing to keep in mind - he is beyond his retirement age. Will he be there when his substandard treatment plan fails? Think again. I have dentists spend an hour with me discussing treatment and this lousy doctor made a very important decision of my life in 3 minutes without any explanation. There's not much financial motivation for him at the school....or maybe there are other factors that drive his total indifference to human life and health. Absolutely did not care, did not want to help me understand my complex situation. No stars for him. You can't do this anymore, Marc Appelbaum. No stars for you!
